IN THE WOODS

I rented a low budget horror film last night called "IN THE WOODS". The acting was crap, as was the direction and sound. Did a search on the net for info and could not believe it cost over $200, 000. There's one or two good bits in the film but it was very ameaturish. Check it out and tell me what you thought.

surely this gives us hope, if U see a film like that then you know u can do better. If a film like that can be put onto the market, then surely we can all make films that will get distributed!

Who cares. Sounds like another fucking pointless BLAIR WITCH rip-off to me. The fact that it got any sort of distribution at all shows us what sad state cinema is in. Not interested.

Here is a good rule of thumb for renting movies. Check out who is in it before you rent it cus the bigger the name the better it will be.

no way, if you're an aspiring filmmaker it's good to check out low budget efforts and comforting if it's not done so well.

it came out the same year as blair witch, i believe. and though it borrowed heavily from it, it wasnt really a rip off.

and i agree, its good to check out all of these types of low budget flicks. and i feel quite good if its sucks so bad that i have to stop the peice of shit in the middle.

i received an email from the guy who made this film. It took him two years to raise the cash. He worked hard on it...at least he tried.

Technically this is a brilliant example of how really good sound can hold a film together. Sure you could argue that the film is about sounds (people just talking and rambling), but the low budget contraints meant that they sacrificed image quality. But I think the sound makes it utterly watchable and gripping.....

But if you make a movie to have it in Blockbuster you need a solid cast cus the better the cast the more rentals you get. If I am going to make a film for a lot of money, I'm going to save a little bit longer to get that great equipment.
